spam distribution variance

So there has been some question about why “more” spam is coming through to the end users — the spam filtering devices are updated, we haven’t “lessened” the protection, so why more junk?

Because we’re getting more spam, so the volume of what goes in goes up, and what jumps through the hoops masquerading as ham also goes up proportionately1. But there may be another reason why some users get the brunt of the spam serving: Not all email addresses are equal when it comes to receiving spam.

1Not that we block based on percentage or have a set limit of spam that’s allowed through. The goal is 100% Ham, 0% SPAM.
